| 4 bars | The 1st man advance and retire with lady on either side of him |
| 4 bars | The 2 ladies change so outside hands hold man and inside hands form an arch behind his head; advance and retire again |
| 4 bars | All three balance right and left; the man backs under arch and turns both ladies under his arms so wrists are crossed |
| 8 bars | Still holding hands (now crossed) the three circle half round to left and back |
| Repeat the dance for 2nd man, 3rd man and 4th man; then for the 4 ladies | |
